What We Do
Lucid Colloids is a premier Indian manufacturer since 1958 of Edicol brand Food Grade Guar Gums and other hydrocolloids such as Cassia Gum and Stabilisers and Gum Blends. Lucid's wide range of Edicol brand Food Grade Guar Gums are available in viscosities ranging from 10% = 1,250cps to 1% = 7000cps (Brookfield) and in particle sizes from very coarse to very fine. Lucid has recently introduced its new product range of Food Grade Guar Gums - Edicol DPG Series which are extremely low viscosity Guar Gums. The DPG products are designed for use in foods and beverages where high solids / low viscosity systems are required. Water solutions of the DPG series products give long honey-like flow when used in sufficient concentrations.
Lucid’s product portfolio for the Food industry includes more than 35 different Guar Gums. Customised products are possible.
Lucid has 3 manufacturing plants in India – Jhagadia, Gujarat, Jodhpur, Rajasthan and Meglasiya, Rajasthan. The Corporate Headquarters are in Mumbai, India. Lucid has a subsidiary company in the USA – Lucid Colloids America Inc., and a subsidiary Company in the Netherlands – Lucid Colloids Europe B.V.
Lucid carries out it agri field research on Guar and other semi-arid zone crops at its 40 acre farm and research station at Mokheri, Rajasthan, India. Lucid is involved with 4,000 Guar farmers for sustainable sourcing and organic farming and totally supports 50,000 Guar farming families over 500,000 acres in India.
Lucid is IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001), FSSC 22000 (GFSI equivalent), BRCGS (A Grade), cGMP, Vegan, Non-GMO, EfFCI GMP, SA 8000 and SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar certified.
Lucid also offers Kosher, Halal and Organic certified Food Grade Guar Gums.
IFC (International Finance Corporation), the investing arm of the World Bank, is a minority shareholder in Lucid. Lucid has adopted World Bank guidelines on Environment, Health and Safety and Social Standards.
