As general counsel, Ms. Olsen serves many roles for CRN. She provides legal counsel to CRN’s staff, and advises members about nutrition product legislation, regulatory policy, and legal developments. She also serves as a liaison between CRN and key industry stakeholders, such as state attorneys general, the Federal Trade Commission, and the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau, educating legal staff from these organizations about dietary supplement regulatory compliance and other issues. Prior to joining CRN, Ms. Olsen was special counsel for Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, D.C., and worked as senior counsel for a major drug-store retailer advising on food and drug legal issues. She has an extensive background advising companies on federal and state consumer protection laws, and significant experience handling Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission matters. She earned her J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., and received her B.A. from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
